5 Tips To Increase Productivity

1. Get Clear on your Goals:
Start by Clarifying What you want to accomplish this week? Think about Everything you would like to do and need to do. Doing this Sunday evening to prepare for your week, or first thing Monday Morning with your power drink, sets you up a more efficient and effective week.
2. Create Your Brainstorm List:
Take a sheet of paper and create 4 columns: Work/Business, Personal Care, Relationships, & Home. Write down under each category everything you wish to do so that you can see it ALL at once. This becomes the place where you can add anything that comes up during the week to make sure you can see them at a glance. (Just this task alone will release Dopamine in your brain and set you up for success.)
3. Determine Your High Priorities:
Get a new clean sheet of paper (Templates will be available on my website) with the Work/Business, Personal Care, Relationships, & Home columns and now write the goals and tasks down in order of Priority. Classify you “High Priority” items by what gets you closer to accomplishing your Ultimate Goals, and by what is most important which is also time sensitive (and that you can’t delegate).
Some things clearly need to happen before others due to importance, urgency, deadlines etc. However, when the priority isn’t clear, I use a brilliant question that Gary Keller wrote in the Book “The One Thing” that helps me pinpoint my priorities and to clarify what is the best task I can tackle next. Ask yourself: “What is The ONE Thing I can do such that by doing it everything else would be Easier or Unnecessary?”
4. Choose Your High Priority Action Steps:
Now that you have clarified your Goals and Higher Priorities, determine what Action Steps you need to implement to achieve your Ultimate Goals. Look at your Brainstorm List, Goals and High Priorities and ask yourself “What Tasks will bring me closer to accomplishing my Ultimate Goal?” Pick the Top 3 Things in each category that you wish to accomplish, and that is what you will focus on completing this week!
5. What is the Why, and the Value of accomplishing Your Goals?
When there are hard tasks ahead, write down what propels you to accomplish these particular tasks. We become more motivated to tackle even the hardest of tasks if we can link it to the reason WHY this task is important to our lives, or what will we gain by completing this task (the VALUE).
